In dialogue with the business community
The activities of Vitebsk customs are inextricably linked with organizations that provide transport services, including international ones. To maintain feedback, the First Deputy Head of the Vitebsk Customs took part in a meeting with the heads of international automobile transport organizations of the Vitebsk region, organized by the BAMAP Association.
The meeting was attended by more than 30 representatives of Vitebsk region enterprises operating in the field of international passenger and cargo transportation, logistics and foreign economic activity.
The management of the customs has covered the process of reconstruction of the Urbany checkpoint. In the course of 2020, it is planned to expand the carriageway between adjacent checkpoints to three lanes in each direction, equip pedestrian walkways and build a modern X-Ray inspection system.These measures are aimed at neutralizing the effect of the “bottleneck” and increasing the throughput of the checkpoint up to 1000 cars per day (today - 270 cars per day).
An international decision to change the status of the Vidzy checkpoint to an international one was announced. This decision will allow minimizing the accumulation of vehicles on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border, including during the reconstruction of the Kamenny Log checkpoint.
Representatives of the companies were informed about the measures taken to reduce the time for passing the border of the Republic of Belarus. One of such measures is the release of goods in the automatic mode according to the transit procedure, when submitting information about the goods transported by the carrier before entering the checkpoint and observing additional conditions. Characteristic errors of carriers and recommendations for their prevention were also voiced.
